History
Rooting back to 1988 with the start-up of IT investments along with foundation of Exim A.S., Emin Hitay has been the a prominent investor in the field of venture capital in Turkey. Exim has introduced the first Barcode to the Turkish market and emerged as a key player in Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AI/DC) segment.
In line with the growth of banking sector and expansion of credit card usage in the daily life, Hitay has started up its second venture; Planet A.S. in 1998. In the same year, technical services arm of Exim has spun off under Teknoser A.S.
Teknoloji Holding A.S. was founded in 1998 to structure all of Hitay's IT assets under one entity. Subsequently, Hitay has acquired Universal Kart Hizmetleri A.S. (Card Services) in 2001 to become the fully integrated card payment system company.
In 2002, Hitay has started another venture which has become one of the great success stories in the Turkish private equity / venture capital universe. In this respect, along with Turkey's leading GSM operator, Turkcell and Intralot of Greece, Hitay co-founded Inteltek A.S., as the gaming facility management company of Spor Toto. Subsequently, a year later, Bilyoner; an "Electronic Medium Agent" of Spor Toto enables online gaming to be played via multi-accessible platforms including GSM, ITV, Internet and IVR. Hitay disposed its 20% stake in Inteltek for a consideration of US$80 million in 2006 to Intralot. This deal has become one of the most valuable transactions in Turkey in terms of value creation at a short period of time.
In 2007, Hitay has sold the entire of its stake in Planet A.S. to Ingenico of France for 26 million Euros. UKH (Universal Card) and Teknoser merged under Teknoser Group umbrella. Subsequently, operations of Exim have also been consolidated under Teknoser Group.
In 2007, Hitay has founded Dataprofil A.S., which is renamed as Napolyon A.S. in 2010, the market research company owning Turkey’s largest online panel. Through the Napolyon.com web site, more than 1.2 million members and profiles can be targeted.
In 2010, Hitay has founded DORinsight is a full service market research company specialized in online research with Turkey’s largest permission-based online panel with more than 1.2 million registered members.
In 2007, Hitay has sold the entire of its stake in Planet A.S. to Ingenico of France for 26 million Euros. UKH (Universal Card) and Teknoser merged under Teknoser Group umbrella. Subsequently, operations of Exim have also been consolidated under Teknoser Group.
Along with IT venture capital investments, Hitay has always observed other investment opportunities in various industries. In line with this strategy, Hitay has founded Arena Faktoring A.S. to provide factoring services to Turkish corporates and SME's in 2009. In August 2010, Hitay has signed the master franchise agreement with Sotheby's International Realty, the global prominent luxury real estate brokerage firm serving the most prestigious clientele in the world to start the Turkey operations of Sotheby's International Realty as of December 2010.
2nokta, established in February 2011, provides the first and sole hardware, software and operating platform in Turkey, which unites barcode/datamatrix combinable retail market solutions, value added services and banking applications in secure payment terminals.
